Mission Statement
As the founder of Birth in Reverse my goal is to empower clients through knowledge and emotional support regarding challenges faced during the dying process.
Discussing death brings peace & understanding
HOW MY JOURNEY BEGAN
Ever since my father died when I was five I’ve thought a lot about death. Then when my grandpa died at our home on hospice eight weeks after our son was born, I was so amazed by the similarity between birth and death that I became a hospice nurse to help others through the dying process.
Death is as much a part of life as being born. In our culture we treat dying as a failure and we do not prepare for it as we do other life events. Death is like birth in reverse. A natural physical process, it can be messy and miraculous at the same time.
As an end of life doula and hospice nurse, I’ve helped many clients dispel myths about dying. This allows them to find peace and comfort as they move through their grief.
I can help you too, call +1 (248) 491-8582 for a free consult.
Blessings,
Shelley
